The 2015 Cuvée Paul is produced with Garnacha vines from Calatayud, from old vines that contain some Garnacha Peluda, a biotype of the variety that has fluff/hair in the back of the leaves. It fermented in tanks and matured in American oak barrels, 30% of them new, for one year. It had some blurry aromas, vegetal hints and intriguing notes reminiscent of damp earth. The palate had some dusty tannins and earthy rusticity, ending slightly bitter. There is less oak than in the past, though. 9,000 bottles were filled in December 2016.
