A blend of 63% Chenin Blanc and 37% Viognier (a portion of the latter raised in French oak) the 2009 White Blend has a reticent nose that needs to express more varietal character. The palate is better: well balanced with plenty of citrus-driven, vibrant fruit and well-integrated oak towards the harmonious finish. Drink now-2014. Sijnn is a new project from an old ostrich and grain farm located at the mouth of the Breede River. The plantings tend towards Mediterranean (Syrah, Mourvedre, Touriga Nacional, Chenin Blanc and Viognier amongst others.) The fruit is presently vinified at De Trafford in Stellenbosch, though there are plans to construct a local winery.Importer: Boutique Wine Collection. PO Box 7436, Philadelphia. PA 1901.
