DaMa’s red wines begin with the 2007 Cow Girl Cab, sourced from Rattlesnake Hills and Seven Hills Vineyards. Opaque purple in color, it exhibits an excellent nose of wood smoke, violets, tobacco, spice box, black currant and blackberry. On the palate it displays layered fruit, plenty of spice, ripe tannin, and a forward personality. Although it can be approached now, it will provide pleasurable drinking for another 7-8 years. DaMa Wines is the project of Dawn Kammer and Mary Tuuri Derby whose wines can be sampled at their downtown Walla Walla tasting room. The wines are made from purchased fruit.www.damawines.com
