The 2011 Cuvee Cinema Pinot Noir undergoes 75% whole berry ferment and spend four weeks macerating on its skins before maturation in 50% new oak. It has a broody, almost earthy bouquet, the fruits slightly darker than its peers but still beautifully defined. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe raspberry and wild strawberry on the entry. It shows good body and substance with a crisp Morello finish encased in fine tannins. This is a well-crafted Pinot Noir that just needs a little more persistency. Drink now-2017. The wines showed dramatic improvement in quality between debut and sophomore vintages, an upward trajectory that should continue as Peter hones his craft.
