The 2005 Syrah Tierra Alta Vineyard’s beautiful bouquet of camphor, crushed rocks, charcoal, creme de cassis, and tar is followed by a robust, flowery Syrah with head-spinning levels of alcohol, huge body, and massive concentration. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. These are all blockbuster-flavored and sized wines, so be forewarned if you are looking for more restrained, delicate reds.
