Closed in an easy screwcap bottle, the Colutta 2019 Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Grigio Ramato shouldn't be mistaken for a rosé. Instead, this is a "ramato" styled wine, and its name refers to the distinct copper color you see through this transparent bottle. Pinot Grigio with skin contact results in this special hue and makes for a very popular category of easy-drinking wines from Northern Italy to be served with everything from cheese-platter appetizers to fish dinners and fruit salads. This sample shines bright from the glass and offers varietal aromas of citrus, pink grapefruit and minty honeydew melon. This was a release of 3,330 bottles.
