The 2009 Pinot Noir Sarah Jane’s Block also spent 18 months in 40% new French oak. A bit lighter in color than the Renelle’s Block, it sports an inviting nose of sandalwood, exotic spices, rose petal, black cherry, and black raspberry. It opens in the glass to reveal a velvety texture, some complexity, lively acidity, and enough fine-grained tannin to support another 1-2 years of cellaring. It will deliver optimum drinking from 2013 to 2023. There are three late-released 2008 offerings from designated estate parcels.Tel. (503) 472-3976; www.cdtvineyard.com
