Chateau Ste. Michelle produces good wines across the board. I found the 1990 Chateau Reserve to be a dead-ringer for a classic Medoc. It reveals an elegant, understated, complex, cedary, cassis, and vanillin-scented bouquet, admirable depth of fruit, an attractive layered texture, and a wonderful marriage of richness and finesse. It should drink well for at least 10-12 years.
