Deep in color and marked by toasty oak, the 2016 Costieres de Nimes Compostelle is a ripe, rich white wine. Cinnamon and clove accent baked-apple flavors in this woody white wine that's lost a bit of its regional identity to the oaky overlay.

Made from 90% Roussanne and 10% Viognier, the 2014 Costieres de Nimes Compostelle is a rich, beautifully textured southern Rhone white that offers lots of buttered citrus, orange blossom, honeysuckle and a kiss of toasted bread on the nose. Fresh, on the fuller side of medium-bodied, nicely balanced and with integrated acidity, this rock solid 2014 has tons to like and will drink nicely for 2-3 years.

The 2012 Costières de N?mes Compostelle Blanc (90% Roussanne and 10% Viognier) is an outstanding white. Elegant, classy and silky, with beautiful white peach, white flowers, honeysuckle and hints of toasted nut, it flows onto the palate with medium-bodied richness, integrated acidity and a terrific finish. It will be versatile on the dinner table and is impressive. Drink it over the coming 2-3 years.

Richer and more serious, the 2011 Costieres de Nimes Compostelle Blanc checks in as a blend of 90% Roussanne and 10% Viognier. Rich and textured, with plenty of brioche, golden fruits, honey blossom and vanilla cream aromas and flavors, it flows onto the palate with a medium-bodied, rich and supple texture as well as juicy acidity that comes through on the finish. From proprietor and vigneron, Luc Baudet, the 2010 Costieres de Nimes Compostelle Blanc, a blend of 90% Roussanne and 10% Viognier, is a seriously endowed white offering lots of rose petal, honeysuckle, lychee nut and apricot marmalade notes. With medium body, loads of fruit and good acidity as well as freshness, it should drink nicely for another year. This excellent Costieres de Nimes estate has fashioned an impressive portfolio of 2009s.
