From proprietor and vigneron, Luc Baudet, the 2010 Costieres de Nimes Compostelle Blanc, a blend of 90% Roussanne and 10% Viognier, is a seriously endowed white offering lots of rose petal, honeysuckle, lychee nut and apricot marmalade notes. With medium body, loads of fruit and good acidity as well as freshness, it should drink nicely for another year.
This excellent Costieres de Nimes estate has fashioned an impressive portfolio of 2009s. Moreover, as with just about any wine from this appellation, prices are fair, making this a treasure-trove of value.
