The 2012 Costieres de Nimes Armonio checks in as a unique blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. Its inky ruby color is followed by a ripe, oaky, currant and toasted bread scented wine that has a full-bodied, chunky style on the palate best suited for drinking with food.

Easily the most modern-styled effort in the lineup, the 2010 Armonio is a joint project of Luc Baudet and Louis Mitjavile of Terte-Roteboeuf in St.-Emilion. A blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 24 months in new Bordeaux barrels, it offers up knockout black currant, lead pencil shavings, smoke and underbrush on both the nose and palate. Full-bodied, concentrated and rich, with a superb texture that stays nicely focused, this serious effort still has some tannin to integrate, and should have over a decade of total longevity. A stunning wine, the Vin de Pays d’Oc 2009 Armonio is a joint project of Luc Baudet and the well-known Mitjavile family of St.-Emilion who also own Terte-Roteboeuf. An amazing wine, this blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon spent nearly two years in Bordeaux barriques, and is no shy wine at 15% alcohol. It boasts an opaque ruby/purple color along with extraordinary aromas of kirsch, blackberries and smoky meats. Super-intense, rich and full-bodied, it tastes more like a great St.-Emilion than anything from the Costieres de Nimes. A glorious texture, full-bodied mouthfeel, a stunning finish and no hard edges suggest it will drink well over the next 7-8 years. Bravo! An intriguing offering, the 2007 Vin de Pays Armonio is a blend of 40% Grenache, 30% Merlot, and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. This cuvee exhibits lots of flavor and ripeness, and a soft style, but the wood character is intrusive at present. Hopefully, that will dissipate over the next year or two. The opaque purple-hued 2003 Costieres de Nimes Armonio (40% Grenache, 30% Merlot, and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon) comes across as an internationally-styled wine with notes of pain grille, black currants, licorice, and earth, and high tannin in the finish.
