While I was disappointed in the 1994 Cotes du Provence Rouge, the following cuvee performed well. The uncomplicated, spicy 1995 Rouge, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah blend, offers sweet tobacco-tinged blackcurrant fruit, good acidity, some tannin, medium body, and a Bordeaux/Provence-like personality. The wine's short finish suggests it should be drunk sooner rather than later - say over the next 3-4 years. This wine was tasted in May, 1997.Kermit Lynch's wines are available throughout the United States, with the import label "Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant, Berkeley, California."
