Virtually every red wine that emerges from this fashionable winery displays wonderful flavor, as well as an appealing up-front richness and fruitiness. Not surprisingly, this dark ruby/purple-colored Zinfandel offers a fine nose of super-ripe cherry fruit and herbs. In the mouth, there is excellent ripeness, good intensity, enough acidity to provide delineation, and soft tannins in the finish. A light intensity bouquet of fruitcake, herbs, and cedar is followed by a compactly built wine that has begun to lose its fruit. It is short and excessively austere. I am sure it was better 4-5 years ago.
