The 2001 Fabrizio Bianchi contains the rest of the estate’s best Sangiovese (Il Poggio is a single-vineyard Riserva) and fortunately is quite different in personality. A bit more international in its toasty, vanilla-laced nose, the Mediterranean brush and minerals of the palate, the polished body, excellent focus, and tasty tannins of the finish are instead all highly Tuscan.
