The Castelli del Grevepesa 2020 Chianti Classico Clemente VII (made with all Sangiovese aged in both barrique and botte grande) shows dark, open-knit fruit, and the wine does reflect some of the tones you would expect of a hot vintage such as this. There is a slightly faded nature to the fruit with dried plum and baked cherry. Earthy tones and grilled rosemary bring up the rear in this wine. This is an ample production of 80,000 bottles.
