The 2004 Luna Beberide Reserva is a blend of 55% Mencia, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Merlot aged for 26 months in new oak, 80% French and 20% American. Inky purple-hued, it offers a complex array of pain grille, pencil lead, baking spices, blueberry, and black raspberry. Smooth-textured, sweetly-fruited, and layered, this concentrated wine has 3-5 years of aging potential and a very long, fruit-filled finish. The 2002 Luna Beberide Reserva, a blend of 40% Mencia, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Merlot, was aged for 26 months in 80% new French and 20% American oak before being bottled unfiltered. Clearly marked by the oak, aromatically the fruit is muted and the wine comes across as compact on the mid-palate and slightly hard in the finish.
