Valle de Salinas' 2009 Roble is a blend of 60% Monastrell, 20% Tempranillo, and 20% Syrah aged for 3 months in French and American oak. Underbrush, brier, cinnamon, clove, and blueberry aromas inform the nose of this spicy, flavorful, well-balanced red. It is an excellent value for drinking over the next 4 years. The 2005 Roble, a blend of 60% Monastrell, 20% Syrah, and 20% Tempranillo, spent 3 months in French and American oak. Not as vibrant as the unoaked Joven, it nevertheless has an an expressive perfume of fresh herbs, pepper, cedar, and blackberry.
