Reflecting a warm and ripe year with an early harvest, the 2015 Crianza shows darker fruit and nice integration of the oak. There is good ripeness without excess and subtle spices and smoky aromas. The palate is juicy with some grainy tannins. The price is just unbelievable. 200,000 bottles produced.

I found the 2010 Crianza excessively oaky with varnished wood notes that hide the shy fruit underneath it, and a palate whose flavors are a little clipped by the drying tannins. Drink 2014-2015. Imported by Spain Wine Collection, Congers, NY; www.spainwinecollection.com

The 2005 Crianza is purple-colored with an excellent nose of cedar, scorched earth, spice box, and assorted black fruits. Firm, ripe, and chewy on the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine has ample spicy flavors, moderate tannin, and good length.
