The 2002 Pi del Nord is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from a single vineyard and aged in French oak for 24 months. Dark ruby red in color, it gives up a pleasant cherry-accented nose but on the palate is a bit hollow and perhaps losing some fruit. It should be drunk up over the next few years. Bodegas Pinord is a family-owned estate dating back more than 150 years. The existing winery and cellar was constructed in 1942 and has a capacity of over 5,000,000 bottles.
