The 2008 Pinot Noir “Bassus” has an intense nose with notes of blackberry shellfish and touch of new leather, like a brand new pair of shoes! It turns more floral with continued aeration. The palate is ripe and shows wonderful balance as well as succulent tannins counterpoised by great tension and poise. It has a long, vibrant, shimmering finish that lingers in the mouth. Superb.
