Denoting a very warm vintage with ripe aromas and flavors, the 2011 Ferratus Sensaciones reflects quite faithfully the natural conditions of the year, which is good. But it is clearly the heavier wine that I tasted from Cuevas Jiménez. It's ready now. 7,030 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2013.

The savory nose of the 2010 Ferratus Sensaciones made me think about food (and no, I was not hungry when I tasted it) with notes of cured meat and some earthy sensations intermixed with ripe berries and a pinch of spices. The palate has more oak-related flavors, but shows pretty good balance. It is pure Tempranillo from the Pago de Santa Cruz vineyard at 900 meters altitude in the village of La Horra in the province of Burgos. 6,000 bottles were produced.

It shows plenty of aromas of Mediterranean herbs (thyme, rosemary, lavender), quite perfumed and balsamic. The palate feels quite polished with resolved tannins, as it must have been in bottle for some time now. A Mediterranean Ribera ready to be enjoyed. 5,100 bottles.

The 2008 Ferratus Sensaciones is a single- vineyard Tempranillo from the Pago de Santa Cruz vineyard in La Horra (Burgos), which shows the austerity of the vintage with a generous layer of spices and smoke from the oak under which is nice fruit. The palate is medium to full-bodied with abundant, dusty, grainy tannins that coat your palate and your mouth and don’t let you taste much beyond them.
