The purple-colored 2009 Tobar Roble is 100% Tempranillo aged 6 months in French oak. An aromatic array of cedar, Asian spices, violets, and blackberry compose the nose of this slightly austere, structured offering. Ripe on the palate and with good volume, it could easily fill out with another 1-2 years of bottle age. If that should happen, my score would look conservative.
