The juicy red 2020 La Planta has notes of licorice, black fruit and herbs and a medium to full-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins that would welcome food. 1.6 million bottles produced!

The fruit-driven and straightforward 2017 La Planta shows a lightish palate with quite a lot of tannins for such a wine. 960,000 bottles and 15,000 magnums produced.

The fruit-driven 2015 La Planta is a Tempranillo matured in French and American oak barrels for six months. It surprised me with some minty aromas and a touch of cocoa. This is an intelligent, commercial wine, balsamic and faintly oaky, ideal for the by-the-glass local market. 800,000 bottles produced, up from 700,000 in 2014.

The 2014 La Planta feels quite young and was suffering a bit from the recent bottling (two months before my tasting). There are some spices and sweet fruit notes. The palate feels a bit dry, somehow astringent, with dusty tannins and moderate acidity. 700,000 bottles produced.
