The 2006 Taurasi Vigna Quattro Confini is an excellent choice for readers who want to enjoy a fine Aglianico without having to wait for years. Vibrant dark cherries, sweet flowers, spices, minerals and earthiness are woven together in a remarkably accessible, open style that is sure to find many admirers. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016.
These are the finest wines I have tasted from Benito Ferrara. The whites in particular seem to have found a balance that was often missing in the past. Readers should note that I tasted Ferrara’s whites from tank prior to bottling, while the reds were tasted from bottle.
