Bright dark red. Brooding, slightly medicinal aromas are nonetheless riper than those of the 2010 Merriment blend, offering red and black fruits, mocha, minerals and sexy oak tones. Silky and concentrated without any impression of weight, with the dark berry and mineral flavors showing terrific definition and floral lift but coming across as youthfully austere today owing to the wine’s very firm acid/tannin spine. Elegantly styled, savory and very long on the finish, with beautifully coated tannins. This slowly evolving 2010 should be at its best between about 2017 and 2025.
