The Barone di Villagrande 2018 Etna Rosato is a compact, firm and energized wine that opens to beautifully delicate notes of violet and lavender followed by citrusy tones of pink grapefruit and passion fruit. What sets this Rosato, made on the east side of the volcano, apart from those made on the north side is the enhanced floral and fruity signature achieved here. The wine is a blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Carricante. Other Etna Rosatos are often more ashen and mineral in character, but this wine presents direct and simple primary fruit. It's not less complex per se, just different. Some 9,000 bottles were made.

A blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese and 10% Carricante, the 2017 Etna Rosato is a simple and refreshing wine with a pretty pale pink color. The bouquet offers wild berry with crushed stone and smoke. The finish is thin and crisp. Winemaking is executed solely in stainless steel. Some 16,000 bottles were produced.

Made with a 90-10 blend of Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, the 2016 Etna Rosato offers a beautiful pale pink color with pink raspberry highlights. The wine is streamlined and vibrant, but it also shows an excellent level of crisp acidity. The mineral element is very well defined as Barone di Villagrande's vineyards have the lucky privileged of looking over a gorgeous sea-facing panorama.

The 2014 Etna Rosato is 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% other indigenous grapes from Mount Etna. This is an easy-drinking rosé that displays a pretty pink color backed by tonic and sharply defined berry aromas. Cranberry and cassis are enhanced by ash, mineral and dried garden herb. This lighthearted Rosato should be consumed within the next 18 months.
