The 2013 Shymer is a blend of Syrah and Merlot. This vintage jumps ambitiously forward in terms of quality and integrity since the 2011 vintage I tasted a few years ago. The results are soft and slightly toasted with ripe cherry and blackberry followed by spice and smoked meat. Shymer offers generous fullness and seamless texture and should be consumed within the next few years.
