Kesseler's transparent ruby colored 2013 Rheingau Pinot Noir opens a bit reductive on the nose but benefits form aeration. The wine has a clear, intense and well-concentrated, fresh and spicy/toasty bouquet of red cherries and raw meat. Silky, round and elegant on the palate, with good acidity, this is a pretty smooth, powerful and full-bodied Pinot with ripe fruit, a juicy texture and a refreshing finish. Sourced in Assmannshausen and Rüdesheim, this is not very complex but is a lovely fruity and refreshing Pinot that seems still on its way and should be decanted an hour or two before the consumption. Tasted January 2018.
