The 2010 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard is soft, supple and pretty. Sweet dark cherries, cloves, new leather and mint all wrap around the juicy, mid-weight finish. Although not especially complex, the 2010 is highly attractive. It should continue to drink nicely for at least a few years, although I don’t see it materially improving over time. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2016. This is a solid set of wines from Arista. Count me among those very interested to see what newly-arrived winemaker Matt Courtney, formerly of Marcassin, will add to the mix over the coming years.Tel. (707) 473-0606
