Produced from a steep vineyard composed of crushed shells left behind by receding seas, the Chablis La Rosette Reserve reveals deep and fresh mineral and floral aromas. On the palate, this wine is broad, rich, bright and medium-to-full-bodied. Its concentrated core possesses flavors reminiscent of raspberries, sea shells, minerals, smoke, and white flowers. This lacy yet powerful wine will provide fabulous drinking between 1999 and 2004. The wine (there are only 75 cases of this "reserve" bottling) was aged in previously used oak barrels in order to maximize lees contact (as opposed to the more traditional massive tanks) and not impart unwanted oak flavors.Importer: "Reserve" wines are Vezan/Hinkle selections for North Berkeley Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel (510) 848-8910.
