This estate is a must for lovers of Meur-sault Perrieres, the tautest, classiest, slow-est aging and most capable of aging of all the wines from this village. The main Les Perrieres vineyard boasts the most tavor-able aspect in the entire "climat" (a Bur-gundian term for a cadastral lieu-dit) and adjoins the sub-plot of Clos des Perrieres, a monopoly of Albert Grivault. You might think there was no difference between the two-think again. Burgundy being as mys-terious as ever, the Clos wines actually transcend those of its neighbor, possess-ing all the strength of a Montrachet and maybe even more finesse.
