Varietal notes of plums, dark cherries, black pepper and game meld into rich fruit in this explosive, full-bodied Syrah. This is an especially intense style of Syrah, but it is also beautifully balanced. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. Over the last two years, Adelaida has become one of my favorites among the lesser-known properties in Paso Robles. Once again, I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted, especially considering the sheer diversity within the lineup. It shows impeccable polish from start to finish, along with an elegant, refined personality. This is a stunning wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018.
