The 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Caillerets (white) exhibits a nose of star anise and toasty minerals. Medium-bodied, lush, and generous in the attack as well as mid-palate, this satin-textured wine coats the taster’s mouth with minerals and stones. Its personality slightly fades away before coming back for a vengeance in the finish, unleashing additional notes of candied minerals. Projected maturity: now-2010.
