The 1999 Pinot Noir Isabelle is a seriously extracted, rich, layered effort. Tangy acidity makes the tannin taste sharp, and the wine more compressed. This 1999 should prove to be outstanding with another two years of cellaring. It possesses a deep plum/purple color in addition to loads of black cherry fruit intermixed with subtle earth and herb notes. There is a lot going on in this tight, backward 1999. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2014.
