(12% alcohol): Bright, palish red. Pungent scents of cranberry, fresh raspberry, wild herbs, mint and sassafras: smells like cool-climate Pinot! Bone-dry and on the lean side, with juicy, savory red fruit flavors a bit dominated in the early going by herbal and mineral elements. Nicely aromatic in the mouth but uncompromisingly dry, offering little in the way of flesh. Finishes with a very fine dusting of tannins and lingering herbal character. Sappy but austere; I'd like to see this again in a couple years. But even today it's not hard.
