The 2011 Therra is a bend of the five red grapes grown at Podernuovo a Palazzone: Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Montepulciano and Merlot. This interesting blend offers huge fruit character with dark cherry, pressed blackberry, spice, tobacco and leather. It's a truly lovely wine that makes for a perfect option for grilled steak or roasted leg of lamb. You get the tannic structure from the two Cabernet varieties and the fruity softness from both the Montepulciano and the Merlot. The Sangiovese contributes to the wine's bright acidic vein.
