The 1989 Clos de la Roche is ruby/amber-colored and offers dense currant aromas. This medium-to-full-bodied, ample, mouthful of a wine is crammed with layers of cedary cherries, stones, and touches of mint. It has a sexy satin texture, lovely definition, gorgeous harmony, and a long supple finish. Drink it over the next 6 years.

Medium-bodied, with expressive aromas. Like many '89 red Burgundies, this is beginning to show some maturity with its woodsy, earthy aromas, but there is plenty of currant and other good fruit notes as well.
