The 2013 Vinsobres Les Piallats is borderline outstanding, and a terrific effort from a less than straightforward vintage. A blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah that was aged in equal parts tank and two-year-old barrels, it reveals a healthy purple color to go with pretty, perfumed notes of black raspberries, peppery and spice. Medium plus-bodied, elegant and graceful, with a light, yet silky texture, drink this beauty anytime over the coming 6-7 years.
