From a vineyard made famous by Rosenblum Cellars before it was sold, the opaque ruby/purple-tinged 2012 Zinfandel St. Peter’s Church Vineyard achieved a whopping 15.5% alcohol. The wine reveals a lot of nuances, pepper, spice, red and black fruits, a big, full-bodied mouthfeel, and the tell-tale opulence, purity and multi-dimensions Jeff Cohn routinely builds in his wines. There is also a certain elegance that most big, extracted, rich, full-throttled Zinfandels do not possess. Drink it over the next 7-8 years.
