The 2016 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Garenne (Maison Louis Jadot) is showing well from bottle, wafting from the glass with aromas of honeyed citrus fruit, crisp yellow apples, blanched almonds and a subtle framing of new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, pure and nicely concentrated, with tangy acids and a tight-knit, tensile core. Classic in profile, this will reward some bottle age.
