The only Zinfandel I tasted is the 2006 Zinfandel Iron Hill Vineyard. Peppery, black raspberry, and briery notes emerge from the moderately intense aromatics. Rustic, earthy, and medium to full-bodied with some astringency, this well-made, solid Zinfandel should be consumed over the next 3-4 years.
Jeff Cohn, who used to make wine at Rosenblum Cellars, consistently turns out very interesting, flavorful wines under his own label. Syrah dominates his portfolio.
