The 2011 Condado comes from the so-called “Tea District” and is a blend of 70% Albarino, 25% Treixadura and 5% Loureiro fermented in stainless steel tanks. It has a simple nose of pear and grapefruit with distant scents of pinecones. The palate is a little shrill on the entry and it is missing the complexity that I would have hoped for at this price, finishing very primal. Drink now. The cellars of As Laxas date all the way back to 1862 in Arbo (Condado do Tea) on the banks of the River Mino. Approximately 60% of the fruit comes from their own vineyards, although they intend to reduce this figure in the future.Importer: Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, White Plains, NY; tel.
