The 2004 Solesce, (produced only in what Carter feels are the best vintages) is made up of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Malbec. Purple-colored, it has an alluring bouquet of pain grille, pencil lead, scorched earth, black currant, and blackberry. Powerful and structured on the palate, the wine is well-balanced, full-flavored, and lengthy. Give it 3-5 years in the cellar and drink it through 2024.
Veteran winemaker Brian Carter began his personal project in 2006 in the Woodinville Wine Village. A believer in the art of blending, Carter makes one white and four red blends in each vintage as well as one cuvee containing declassified lots.
