The purple-colored 2007 Poesia, sourced from an 80-year-old vineyard in Lujan de Cuyo, was barrel fermented and aged sur lies for 21 months in new French oak. It is a blend of 60% Malbec and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. It displays a brooding nose of smoky new oak, mineral, damp earth, black currant, black cherry, and plum. This leads to a plush, opulent wine with succulent flavors and a firm underlying structure. Notes of espresso and chocolate emerge on the palate to complement the wine’s superb grip, focus, and 60-second finish. Drink this superb effort from 2013 to 2022. The winery has a new offering just in time for hard economic times. The 2007 Malbec is a deeply colored wine with an expressive nose of ripe black cherry fruit. Rich and remarkably powerful for its humble price, this tasty effort will drink well for another 3 years.
