Accordini’s 2004 Recioto della Valpolicella Classico Acinatico is a delicious, beautifully balanced Recioto. Although this is not an especially complex wine, it possesses attractive dark fruit intermingled with roasted coffee beans, tea and spices in an attractive, accessible style. The Recioto is made from the same blend as the Amarone (75% Corvina Veronese, and the rest Rondinella and Molinara) and aged in French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2014. I was very pleased with what I tasted from Accordini this year. This small family-run property is located in the heart of the Amarone district.
