The 2012 Santenay 1er Cru Beauregard comes from 1.5 hectares from one main block located close to the windmill and two satellite blocks further down the slope. It has a deep, slightly rustic, black tea-scented bouquet that is broody but well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with firm structure, quite dry and foursquare, serious and broody with a slight astringency toward the finish. I would have just shortened the maceration a little. Drink 2015-2021.
