Faiveley made a great Latricieres-Chambertin in 1988 that rivals the superb 1985 he produced. He thinks it may be even better than his 1985. There is no doubting its awesome concentration, profound, spicy, leathery, ground beef, exotic sort of aroma, and concentrated, medium-to full-bodied texture. It is soft, but has good, firm tannins in the finish. Drinkable early on, this wine should easily benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and should last for up to a decade.
