The Gevrey-Chambertin-Premier Cru (from Les Cazetiers and Lavaux St.-Jacques) offers a more earthy, smoked meat, animal sort of nose than the Gevrey-Chambertin. In the mouth, this full-bodied wine has exceptional richness, black-cherry flavors, gobs of glycerin, and a dense, powerful, moderately tannic finish. Drinkable now because of its viscous soft texture, it should last for at least 7-10 years. Importer: Neal Rosenthal, Select Vineyards, New York, NY.
