The 2004 Marchese di Villamarina is a delicious expression of Sardinian Cabernet Sauvignon. This delicate, medium-bodied red shows lovely balance in its notes of blackberries, grilled herbs, sweet toasted oak, smoke and licorice. Finessed tannins round out this beautifully balanced wine. The Marchese di Villamarina spent 18 months in French oak, followed by an additional twelve months in cask prior to being bottled. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2019. Sella e Mosca’s history goes back all the way to the 19th century. Even though the estate produces a large quantity of wine, quality is quite high especially among these selections.
