The outstanding 1994 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs-Canet offers up a ripe nose of white peaches, creamy lemon meringue pie, and honey. The wine is beautifully knit, with medium body, a sense of lightness, yet intense flavors and a long, dry finish. It is best drunk over the next 4-5 years. The three offerings reviewed in this segment are only a small sample of the range of wines made by Louis Carillon and his sons. This domaine produces fine Burgundies, all of which seem to have gotten even better since the late eighties.
