The 1970 Chappellet Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is pale brick in color with a very pretty nose of dried roses, kirsch and incense with nuances of crushed rocks, cigar box and new leather. This is quite an elegant vintage, featuring a medium body and very soft, powdery tannins framing the fragrant cigar box and earthy layers, finishing with epic persistence and on a compelling meaty note.
